Campaign Story
The goal of our campaign is to transform the basement of our building into a space in which people can gather together to create, learn and experience fiber in new ways. We have chosen to call this place The Fernwood Studio after past building owner Louisa Wall's business to honor her dedication to providing a place for people to connect and the life she made here at the Cowgirl Yarn building.
Transforming the basement into this dream studio space will allow us to have more weaving, spinning, felting and even dyeing courses that would not be possible without the square footage the basement provides.
This project will take many steps but the first and most important ones are what we are asking your assistance for. We will need to remove the items that are in storage in the basement, excavate the space and remove the flooring remnants, pour new concrete, and mark in plumbing for utility sinks, washing machines and a restroom.
This studio will allow Cowgirl Yarn to continue to be a community space for fostering creativity and expanding fiber pursuits right here in Downtown Laramie.
